Metpow to Offset 100% of Guest Energy Use at Customer Sites

Metpow is taking a bold step towards sustainability by committing to offset all the carbon emissions associated with energy usage at Metpow-enabled campsites and marinas. This means that by simply using the Metpow system, customers will automatically be enrolled in a carbon offset program, ensuring that all energy used by their guests is accounted for and offset.

How It Works

Metpow’s smart metering system tracks the total energy consumed at each site every quarter. Using a standardized carbon weighting based on the UK energy mix, Metpow calculates the associated emissions and offsets them through carefully selected environmental projects.

A Win-Win-Win for Everyone

Win for the Environment
By offsetting emissions, Metpow is actively contributing to reducing the carbon footprint of outdoor leisure activities. While the ultimate goal is to transition to more renewable energy sources, offsetting ensures that emissions from energy consumption are accounted for and mitigated in the meantime.

Win for Campsites and Marinas
Site owners can proudly promote their participation in this initiative, demonstrating their commitment to sustainability. This can be a key differentiator for eco-conscious guests, helping to attract more bookings and enhance the site's reputation.

Win for Guests
Visitors can enjoy their stay with peace of mind, knowing that their energy usage is being offset. It’s a small but meaningful way to make their trip more sustainable and reduce their environmental impact.

Supporting Verified Projects

Metpow carefully selected offset projects that hold internationally recognised certifications to ensure real and measurable impact. While carbon offsets are not a perfect solution, they are an important tool in mitigating emissions as industries transition toward cleaner energy sources. No greenwashing here — just real action with verified results.
The Project selected has been developed by Theparak Wind Co., Ltd., this project involves the installation of thirty onshore GE-137 Wind Turbine Generators in Thailand’s Nakhon Ratchasima province. With a total capacity of 90MW, the project supplies enough clean electricity to power more than 30,000 households annually while significantly reducing carbon emissions. By supporting this initiative, Metpow is directly contributing to a greener energy grid.

Ed Jones the CEO at Metpow says:
